Pendu NYC: mixtape
Pendu NYC is an art gallery, an online magazine, a record label, and puts on art and music events in New York since 2005. It is run by Todd Brooks who kindly answered to a few questions and made us a great mixtape.
In Todd Brooks’ own words, Pendu is a curatorial organization working in parallel mediums, here to bring to the forefront the best of the new, the best of what is happening now…

A large room with an amazing sound system and killer DJ spinning vinyl… Copious amounts of fog, strobes, alcohol, and lots of people dancing (not just standing on a wall)… No last call and everyone finds someone to go home with.
Un grand espace, un excellent système sonore et un DJ qui passe des vynils… Beaucoup de brouillard artificiels, des stroboscopes, de l’alcool et beaucoup de gens qui dansent (et ne restent pas plantés contre les murs)… Pas de couvre-feu et chacun trouve quelqu’un avec qui rentrer.

Pendu Disco le 13 novembre au Secret Project Robot à Brooklyn, New York. Une grande fête qui présentera la première du film de trance occulte de Cosmotropia de Xam “Surrealistica Uniferno”, suivi d’une fête du genre rave party jusqu’à l’aube avec Gatekeeper, Blondes et White Ring, des invités surprises et des DJ sets de DJ Harrison, Laurel Halo, Shawn NoEQ of Led Er Est, Katie Rose of Further Reductions, the Surveyor of Nihiti…Ce sera une nuit complètement folle…

[...] Sea como sea, aquí en Concepto Radio hemos decidido dar nuestra opinión sobre este apasionante y excéntrico movimiento de la mejor manera que se puede hacer, estructurando y configurando una extensa hora y media de material sonoro conformado únicamente por referencias con la etiqueta de Witch House, centrándonos eso sí, en la cara más rítmica (sí, la hay) y beat-orientada dentro de su pequeña historia. 33 tracks en los que nos ha cabido de todo; los radicales Mater Suspiria Vision, material de los sellos importantes (Disaro, Pendu Sound, Tundra), nombres menos conocidos como los de GuMMy†Be?R!, Ghoul o ///???\, los omnipresentes Salem y oOoOO, la necesaria confluencia con artistas provenientes de otras dimensiones (Demdike Stare y Umberto, que bien podrían subirse a este barco y ni mucho menos desentonarían), varios guiños al Industrial más comparable (Throbbing Gristle, con homenaje a Peter ‘Sleazy’ Christopherson y el desconocido y siniestro grupo francés Die Form), al Funk demente que facturaban los post-punkarras Wicked Witch y la incursión del tema “Twenty 15′s” de Bass Patrol, uno de los temas capitales del Drag Style (que también incluyó Todd Brooks en su mixtape “Pendu NYC Mixtape”).
