Cantaloupe

The 2d release of the young label Jodie And Victor is a split 7 inch of LA’s bands The Sleeping Bags and Mystery Claws. Let’s talk first about the Sleeping Bags’ song Cantaloupe. Some bands just remind you of other bands. But with already well known elements, Sleeping Bags got me at “hello”.
Under a sonic wall of layered guitars the voice draws a sweet melody, sun-drenched and moving, and then another guitar surprisingly comes and does a solar childish dance and leaves…
This gem is out on August 16th, and a first album will be released soon.
As we wanted to know a little more about The Sleeping Bags we sent them our questionnaire:

- Can you introduce your band to our readers? Pouvez-vous vous présenter?
The Sleeping Bags’ four members are; Matt Kivel (Princeton, Mystery Claws), Jesse Kivel (Princeton, Kisses), Mark Nieto (COMBAT!, Sequins and Skeletons) and Abe Burns. The Sleeping Bags call Long Beach, CA their home. They recorded their album over a two night period in the studios of KXLU 88.9 FM in Los Angeles.  You can hear the sounds of the radio waves of Los Angeles on the recordings.
Les quatre membres de Sleeping Bags sont: Matt Kivel (Princeton, Mystery Claws), Jesse Kivel (Princeton, Kisses), Mark Nieto (COMBAT!, Sequins et Skeletons) et Abe Burns. Les Sleeping Bags disent que Long Beach (Californie) est leur maison. Ils sont enregistré leur album en 2 nuits dans les tudios de la station KXLU 88.9 FM à Los Angeles. On peut entendre le son des fréquences radio de Los Angeles sur les enregistrements.
